Zoom Technologies Inc. was established in 1999 with a focus on mechanical and electro-mechanical design now known as “Mechatronics”. We use advanced computer aided design (CAD) tools which are fully integrated with computerised CNC machining equipment. Working with clients over multiple projects and product generations, Zoom has acquired the critical experience needed for the design, manufacture and optimization of complex mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies. From machining microscopic grooves in plastic for a Biotech company to making large stainless steel camera fittings for an industrial imaging system, Zoom can do most things in-house or through its local supplier network.
Some of our accomplishments are:
- Contributing to the early design of author Margaret Attwood’s writing machine prototypes.
- Machining completely waterproof camera housing assemblies with only 2mm wall thickness from solid aluminum.
- Reverse engineering mechanical parts where the original parts were no longer available. In many cases, the updated design improved performance and reliability.
- Designing a plastic injection moulded housing for an electronic ticketing machine.
- Machining 50 micron wide slots (0.002”) in plastic microscope slides.
- Designing specialised brass cavity molds where no other supplier could help the client.
- Preparing corporate awards and engraving corporate logos with a same day turnaround time for rush jobs.
- Designing custom lighting fixtures and architectural sculptures for a successful international glass artist.
- Offering clients an in-house precision powder coat painting capability for parts up to 300mm x 300mm x 300mm while stocking a broad range of colours and textures.
Introducing a line of modular prototype mounting products to support the company’s “rapid prototyping” philosophy. With a rapidly growing product range, it will soon be marketed under the Protomount brand name at www.protomount.com
