MACHINING
Zoom assists its clients with simple (or complex) machining assignments. We can work from a 2D drawing or preferably from a 3D solid model. Typically, we work with Aircraft grade Aluminum (6061-T6) for which we maintain a broad inventory of different shapes and sizes of this material. We have extensive experience working with many different types of plastic including Nylon, Delrin, Polycarbonate, Acrylic (PMMA), UHMW (Polyethylene) and Teflon. Various grades and sizes of Steel, Stainless Steel and Brass are also stocked or can be rapidly sourced.
Parts gave been machined in sizes ranging from approximately 10mm x 15mm x 1mm to 400mm x 600mm x 150mm with details ranging from 0.06mm (60 micrometers) slots (micromachining) up to 50mm diameter holes and slots.
Zoom’s in-house machining and fabrication capabilities include:
- CNC Milling on Vertical Machining Centers with 4th & 5th Axis indexing capability
- CNC Turning on Turning Center which includes C-Axis capability
- Manual Milling (Knee Mill) and Turning (Lathe)
- Surface Grinding
- Vibratory Part Deburring
- Sheet Metal tools: Brake, Shear, Notcher, Spot Welder etc.
- MIG Welding, Plasma Cutting
- 20 Ton Pneumatic Punch Press
- Stereo Inspection Microscope, Digital Height Gauge, Micrometers etc.
- Batch oriented Powder Coat Paint Booth & Oven

Finishing services such as Plating and Anodizing are outsourced to local suppliers.
